Avner personal life before operations. Dennis Avner: The Life of a Cat Man. A favorite of the public and a regular on television programs

“Okay,” he said, standing up and straightening his tail, “that’s enough for today.” I'm tired, and I need to pull out my mustache and take a break from it.

Dennis Avner (August 27, 1958, Flint, Nevada) - known as the Cat, Catman, Tiger, Tigerman, Stalking Cat, although Dennis himself preferred his Native American name "Crouching" cat,” can rightfully take first place among the most unusual people on the planet.
It should be noted that he is perhaps the only one who is able to name a good reason why he decided to undergo such serious transformations of his body, and not just brush it off with the phrase “I wanted to be original and unique.”

Dennis comes from the Dakota Indian Nation, as well as from the Huron tribe, whose totem animal is the tiger. One day an Indian sage told Denis: “Follow the path of the tiger, little one!” Avner, as befits an American, took the instruction literally and hastened to fulfill the tribal covenant. 20 years have passed since then. All these years, Denis has been pouring in crisp banknotes (only $150,000), modifying his body in every possible way.

As the Cat himself claims, transformation into the image of a sacred animal is a very ancient and almost forgotten tradition of this tribe, so we can say that Dennis spent so much effort, so much money and so many years acquiring such, to put it mildly, extraordinary appearance, not only out of a desire to stand out, but also for religious reasons.

If you recall all the manipulations that the Cat performed with his body, you get the following picture: tattoos imitating the color of a tiger and covering his entire body - in total there are more than a hundred designs; hairline correction; subcutaneous silicone implants that allow you to wear cat whiskers; implants in the eyebrows and forehead to change the shape of the face; complete replacement of teeth from human to animal, including sharp fangs; special lenses that make the eyes look like a cat's; changing the shape of the ears using plastic surgery; many silicone injections; dissection of the upper lip. In total, these changes took Dennis twenty years.

Cat was once a naval sonar technician. Now his fame brings considerable income. Dennis travels frequently and regularly around the world to give interviews, appear in documentaries or appear in television shows.

Of course, there is a lot of talk around the Cat. Basically, his transformations cause a negative reaction. They say that the traditions of his tribe are just a cover, that in fact Dennis just really wanted to stand out and become famous for something, and he could not come up with anything more human and less shocking. Doctors speak out very harshly: in their opinion, the Cat suffers from dysmorphophobia, that is, a mental disorder caused by worries about physical inferiority. In order to get rid of these complexes, Denny decides to radically change his appearance.

“The process of transformation is hardly a pleasant experience. But you are happy as you get closer to your goal, says Denis. “I wanted to achieve the state of half-man, half-tiger, taking the best from each of these biospecies. Now I am the embodiment of the totem of my people."

Dennis died on November 5, 2012 (Tonopah Nevada), his body was discovered at his home in Nevada on November 5, 2012, the news of his death was made public on November 13. The cause of death has not been officially reported, but speculation has been made about suicide.

A few years ago he was shown in all sorts of programs about strange people and invited to the radio to talk about his spiritual connection with the cat world, but recently nothing has been heard about him. Dennis Avner, a highly modified Nevada resident who became widely known as the Cat Man, was one of those weirdos few people took seriously. But those who hosted were at least saddened to learn that Avner, 54, was found dead in his home in early November.

Little is known about Dennis Avner. He was born in Tonopah, Nevada on August 27, 1958. His parents were representatives of the Indian tribes - Huron and Lakota. In his youth, Avner served in the American Marine Corps (establishing the work of locators) and it was there, as he himself said, that he realized his inner connection with representatives of the cat family.

Avner said that he was inspired to radically modify his own body by a mentor who told him that he needed to follow the chosen path of his ancestors. The totem animal of the descendant of the American Indians was a tiger, or rather a tigress, which he spent the rest of his life trying to become like.

The future tigress took an Indian name for herself - Stalking Cat; but for convenience, we will still call him a cat, so as not to be confused about Avner's gender - and began the initial stage of transformation. Avner got his first facial tattoos of a cat from Larry Hanks, a master from San Diego, in 1985.

Most of the operations to implant silicone inserts in the cheeks, forehead and chin, procedures to change the shape of Dennis Avner’s lips, nose and ears are the work of body modification specialist Steve Hayworth, with whom the cat man has collaborated for many years.

Over the years of working on himself, Avner acquired a very flat nose, protruding cheeks, tattoos on his face (including eyelids) and hands, metal jewelry above his upper lip that imitated a cat's whiskers, ground down and extended teeth in the form of cat fangs, yellow eye lenses, long nails and even a moving mechanical tail.

About ten to twelve years ago, the cat man began giving interviews, first to sites dedicated to extreme body modifications, but pretty soon he began to be called on TV and radio - in various programs talking about people who systematically performed not the safest operations, changed to unrecognizable and turned into walking half-beasts.

Along with the show about everything unusual, Ripley's Believe It or Not! Avner managed to travel almost the whole world, visited the Larry King show, starred in an episode of a program for Animal Planet and visited a radio program of the BBC Corporation, and in general - wherever he was invited.

But the life of the cat man consisted not only of traveling around cities and countries, where he time and again described everything that he had managed to do with himself over several years: every time something new appeared, and the list of modifications expanded. After all, the cat man made money not by telling stories about himself, but by working as a programmer. At the same time, he has repeatedly stated that he does not know exactly how much all the surgeries, tattoos and piercings cost him. However, he had no intention of stopping.

Avner recently said that he was not finished with his transformation: he planned to also acquire ears that would be installed on the top of his head. But the cat man did not live to see these plans realized. On November 5, 2012, Dennis Avner was found dead at his home in Tonopah.

The true cause of death of the cat man has not yet been officially named, but his friend and fellow bodmod Shannon Larrat wrote in his diary that Avner committed suicide. "A remarkable and complex man, he was as difficult as he was beautiful. And he recently committed suicide at the age of 54," Larratt's post reads.

Neither Avner's friends nor the authorities in his hometown say anything about his death. It is not even reported when and where he was buried or who exactly found him dead. Surely no one will know the reason for the cat-man’s suicide, if it really happened.

One thing is clear: Dennis Avner, who spent his entire life trying to be and seem like a wild cat, always remained an ordinary person with an unusual appearance and one, not nine, lives.

Dennis Avner became famous all over the world thanks to his unique appearance, which he achieved through numerous plastic surgeries. The famous freak became a bright star of various television shows and the Internet. Today you will find out what exactly attracts the public in this extraordinary personality.

Tiger that sneaks

The biography of Crouching Tiger does not shine with special events and significant facts. Dennis Avner was born in 1958 in Flint, Michigan. The boy had American Indian roots, and his parents began to compare him to a tiger from an early age. This was their main mistake, which cost the young man his life in the future. The Hurons became famous for inventing totems for themselves and striving to be like them in everything.

Dennis Avner decided that his totem would be a cat or a tiger. The man dedicated his body and his whole life to this animal. This manifested itself strangely, and from the outside it seemed that the boy was simply inadequate to Mowgli. After all, having climbed into a hollow tree, he loved to watch the cats purr and eat raw meat. Mr. Avner already dreamed of being in their place. Unfortunately, there is only one single low-quality photo left, in which you can see what Crouching Tiger looked like in his normal, human form.

Cat plastic surgery

Throughout his adult life, Dennis tried to get closer to representatives of the cat family. To do this, the young man had to not only radically change his consciousness, but also repeatedly modify his own body.

  • Tattoos. Looking at the photo of Dennis Avner, you understand that in front of you is a deeply sick and unhappy person. Avner’s psyche raises concerns, because following the chosen image, he decorated his entire body with tattoos in the form of tiger stripes. It was the tiger from the entire cat family that aroused special awe in the guy. The young man's face is completely covered with tattoos. The eyebrows disappeared, and their place was taken by tattooed stripes on the nose, forehead, cheeks and chin. The tattoo artist had to use a lot of ink, because the physique of the cat-man is like a well-fed, buttery donut. The brindle color took over the entire surface of the skin of the arms, palms, shoulders and chest.

  • Plastic mustache. Due to the man's lack of facial hair, he took extreme measures. The freak made tunnel holes in the area of the puffed out and cut upper lip. It was into these holes that iron tubes-holders for plastic tendrils were later inserted. It looks, to be honest, very repulsive. From the lips, which are frozen in an eternal grin, strange stubble thorns, proudly called mustaches, protrude. Dennis Avner was also a terrible fashionista, because he often changed the appearance of this very mustache. Sometimes the place of plastic straws was taken by iron pins, and sometimes by metal oblong straws. In general, much in the appearance of a given person depended on his mood.

  • Rhinoplasty. Rhinoplasty helped the man to get more deeply into his favorite image of a tiger. Dennis Avner suffered a flattened organ after nose surgery. Surgeons completely changed the tip of the nose and widened its back. Now the organ of smell fully corresponded to that of a cat. To make it even more convincing, the area of the wings and tip was completely tattooed in the manner of an animal. With such a nose, it was difficult for the man to breathe, because during the operation important areas of the sense of smell were affected. But the growing fame did not allow the “boy” to stop.

  • Narrowing of the eyelids. The famous cat-like look is what Dennis Avner adored about himself before and after eye reshaping surgery. An adult man with schizophrenic tenacity insisted on performing just such plastic surgery. Surgeons narrowed the eyes, which were wide from birth, as much as possible, and lengthened the shape to give the maximum possible effect of an animal eye. Because both the lower and upper eyelids are completely covered with black tattoos, and cat lenses are stuck on the pupil, the look has become terrible and repulsive.

  • Forehead correction. Before the operation, Dennis Avner had a normal, rather wide forehead. But this was not enough for the graceful animals to imitate. Tiger Man turned to plastic surgeons to implant special silicone implants under the skin of his forehead, which would sculpt this area and give it an animal-like relief. Once the swelling went down, Dennis Avner intensified the color of his tattoos after surgery. As a result, an effect appeared on his forehead. In addition to the tattoo, in the photo of the man you can see pointed spikes screwed into this area. In such a ridiculous way he wanted to achieve the effect of tiger eyebrows. The hairline also turned out to be raised so much that the head began to clearly resemble a pear.

  • Changing the chin. The lower part of the tiger-like man's face also underwent significant surgical interventions. The chin took on a strange, rounded, protruding shape. A similar effect occurs when special implants are sewn under the skin, and not just silicone is injected. It is difficult to say why the man needed plastic surgery of this nature, because it did not bring him any particularly visible resemblance to the totem. Mister cat, melting in the rays of universal fame and attention, simply could not stop.

  • Plastic surgery of cheekbones. A particularly prominent part of the “tiger man’s” face is the cheekbones. They are voluminous, embossed and disgustingly shiny. Photos of the man evoke dual feelings, from “horror!” to “why?” He went to the disfigurement of his own face with huge implants with a smile and a passionate desire to change further. After the operation, Dennis Avner took a long time to come to his senses, because his swollen muzzle (and this is what the man sculpted from his own face) hurt terribly, and the stitches did not want to heal. After quite a long time, he recovered and was happy to note that the resemblance to a tiger had become much more visible.

  • Split lip. Perhaps the most desperate plastic surgery that the already recognizable cat-man freak Dennis Avner decided to undergo. The man's upper lip was surgically split and both parts were raised in the center towards the nose. Thus, all the young man’s teeth were exposed, and silicone was pumped into the remains of his lip. Huge ugly pillows, which could not be called mouths, swelled, taking another dose of silicone filling. Having completely disfigured his face, Dennis Avner went even further. After all, the man realized that his changed appearance could bring good dividends. Cat Man Dennis Avner has already begun to shamelessly beg from his website, begging to be invited to any television shows. He motivated this by the fact that he had no reason to undergo plastic surgery or live anymore.

  • Bestial grin. Having undergone plastic surgery on his upper lip, the cat-man Dennis Avner wanted to expose not just sparse mouse teeth, but a real tiger grin. Reliable dentists came to the rescue. For a significant amount of greenery, they modified the “sabertooth” smile. His own teeth were completely ground down, and tiger fangs were added to the vacant space on the sides. Now the famous freak tried to demonstrate his grin at every opportunity.

  • Ear plastic surgery. Not only was his entire face completely cut off by Dennis himself, but also his ears. The man surgically sharpened their upper tips. Dennis Avner regularly wore earrings in his ears before and after the operation. Not the most tiger-like accessory, but the “saber-tooth” liked them, and he was in no hurry to part with the jewelry. Let us note that the earrings were heavy, so with age they began to feel uncomfortable pulling on the earlobe.

  • The finishing touches to the look. In addition to all the terrifying operations, very earthly and painless things brought the man closer to the coveted totem. Dennis Avner, like a blond beauty, systematically ran to the manicurist to get his nails done.

Huge claws began to accompany him inseparably. The tiger print, even there, was supposed to remind us of who Mr. Avner still strives to be like. The mechanical tail, which could move at the will of its owner, aroused not only interest, but also righteous horror among passers-by.

Everything would be good and peaceful if not for one “but”. In his soul, before and after the operation, Dennis Avner, even despite all the changes, could not become a real tiger. The man spent the last years of his life in depression, comprehending all the stupid things he had done and mourning the time he had missed.

When cat man Dennis Avner was found dead, the police indicated that the cause of death was suicide. Probably, Crouching Tiger forgot that he was still born a man, and he does not have nine lives.

Dennis Avner, better known as Stalking Cat or Cat Man, was born in 1958 in Flint, Michigan. According to some sources, Dennis has roots in the Dakota and Huron Indians. Thus, the sacred image of the tiger attracted Avner from childhood, and therefore, over time, he decided to enter into this image as deeply as possible.

Crouching Tiger has stripes all over his body that imitate tiger stripes, and in addition, Dennis has a surgically split upper lip, which makes his face more “cat-like”. Avner’s teeth are also sharpened in the manner of a cat’s, and implants are implanted in the forehead area. He inserts long plastic whiskers into special holes (tunnels with metal rods) in the skin around his mouth, and green contact lenses with cat-like pupils make Dennis' resemblance to a feline even stronger. By the way, his eyes were also surgically narrowed, and his ears were shortened at the bottom and pointed at the top, which also happened with the help of surgeons. Among other things, to complete the look, he had to undergo silicone injections in many parts of his face - cheeks, chin, forehead.

Avner began his experiments in transformation in the mid-1980s, and his first artist was Larry Hanks from San Diego; It was he who did a great job on Dennis's face.

It is noteworthy that Dennis himself claims that he does not remember how much the cat’s image cost him, but some sources have calculated that in order to transform from a human into a cat, you need to be at least not a poor person.

It is known that in his former, “pre-cat” life, Avner was a sonar technician in the Navy, but the image of a tiger haunted him since childhood.

Today Crouching Tiger is a real celebrity, he often speaks in public and willingly gives interviews. He has appeared on various radio and television programs, including Ripley's Believe It or Not!, Larry King Live, VH1's Totally Obsessed, Kerrang! Radio "s The Night Before" and many others.

Dennis Avner lived in Tonopah, Nevada. “I am a Huron and, according to ancient Indian tradition, I became a totemic animal, the tiger,” he writes on his Internet site. It is known that following the habits of a tiger, Dennis happily climbs trees and eats raw meat every day.
